Created with a Purpose

stories_2_avatar.pngJervie’s family used to be happy and stable, but that changed when he was eight years old and his father died. His mother then decided to send him together with his siblings to live with their aunts and uncles. Years passed, his mother remarried and had three children with his stepfather. They ended up living on the streets when they could no longer afford to pay rent.

Other street dwellers showed them where they could get free meals at feeding stations run by churches or non-government organizations. One of those organizations was CCT. CCT gave his mother and stepfather opportunities to earn an income, and brought him to the CCT-Visions of Hope Christian School in Puypuy, Bay, Laguna in 2010.

Jervie finished high school, taken a two-year course in Hotel and Restaurant Services, and worked part-time at the CCT Tagaytay Retreat and Training Center while studying for a business management degree.

He was given youth leadership roles, which led to the privilege of traveling to Singapore and Malaysia to attend Boys' Brigade events, and to Uganda for a youth conference.

“I thank God for all He has done in my life and for all the people He used to meet my needs and show me His love. I owe God everything.”
